Prime, the esteemed Swedish agency, part of the Interpublic Group (IPG) for ten years, has garnered autonomy following a management buyout.

Now fully owned by five key leaders, Prime displays an eagerness to utilize its expertise in public affairs, corporate communications, and marketing to widen clients’ perspectives.

The transition to self-reliance promotes a heightened sense of investment among leadership and represents a key milestone for the company. Despite ownership changes, Prime vows to keep its name and maintain operations in Sweden.

Reassurances have been given that the restructuring will not impact services and operationsand clients and employees have been promised continuity. Prime’s strong brand identity and commitment to quality remain steadfast.

The firm’s strategic direction also remains, ensuring stakeholders the same high standard of service.

Prime’s autonomy: new chapter after buyout

Emphasis is placed on upholding existing values while remaining open to new opportunities.

The original takeover by IPG aimed to broaden its Nordic footprint. Subsequent alterations to the company’s Nordic operation structure enabled IPG to considerably extend its services, making a profound local impact.

Streamlining processes were emphasized, defining a key moment in the company’s Nordic growth path. Prime’s CEO, Johan Dyrendahl, sees the buyout as essential for future growth, predicting that self-ownership will foster a fresh, local outlook and enhance operational flexibility within Sweden.

IPG’s global CEO, Gail Heimann, lauds Prime’s successful integration over the past ten years, highlighting its transformative effect on the company’s innovation and creativity.

Under Heimann, Prime significantly boosted IPG’s creative capacities and brought about considerable changes in ITG’s operation framework, driving them towards industry success.

Since Prime’s 2014 merger with IPG, the company has won 14 Cannes Lions. This move into self-ownership signals an exciting new chapter in the agency’s evolution, shedding positive light on its impressive achievements and future trajectory.
