Packard Bell to Feature AOL on PCs

Packard Bell, Sacramento, CA, and America Online, Dulles, VA, announced a multiyear marketing agreement that will feature AOL as the preferred online service on all Packard Bell and NEC Ready-branded PCs.

Starting this fall, by clicking on the AOL icon that will appear during the computer's initial setup process, users of Packard Bell and NEC Ready computers will be able to access the preinstalled AOL software and register to become AOL members. Users also can obtain information about AOL. Packard Bell will promote AOL's interactive service CompuServe within the initial start-up process.
