Ex-Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed disapproval of the YSR Congress for its poor handling of pension distribution troubles. He laments the struggles in directly distributing pensions to beneficiaries’ homes, stating that the state’s government falls noticeably short of meeting its commitments to the vulnerable elderly populace. (The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party is an Indian regional political party based in the state of Andhra Pradesh; YSR).

Naidu criticized the government’s inconsistent tactics as reflective of its inefficiency and negligence. He urgently called on the ruling party to take appropriate actions and swiftly rectify these issues to ease the hardship pensioners in Andhra Pradesh are currently facing.

He questioned why the elderly recipients were expected to travel to banks to retrieve their pension funds, especially as the government cited a lack of necessary bank details for direct deposits. Naidu has scrutinized this poorly devised strategy and stressed the unfair burden placed on elderly beneficiaries solely to receive their rightly deserved pension funds.

Despite the government’s claim to have acquired 75% of the necessary bank details, Naidu suggests this action is yet another scheme to harm citizens while casting blame on the opposition.

Naidu slams YSR’s poor pension distribution.

He categorically critiqued this move, warning it posed a significant threat to civil liberties and represented a gross misuse of authority and breach of trust.

Naidu questioned the government’s unwillingness to utilize home delivery of pensions despite possessing a capable village-level government workforce. He believes that this approach would ensure punctual pensions and potentially prevent misuse or misappropriation of pension funds.

The ex-Chief Minister also scrutinized the secretariat staff and their neglected pension distribution responsibilities. He pointed out that the current 41,230 Booth Level Officers often overlooked their pension distribution duties due to the overwhelming task of distributing voter slips.

Lastly, Naidu proposed a ‘dry run’ solution of simultaneous slip and pension delivery as a beneficial system. He suggests allowing secretariat employees to familiarize themselves and improve their skills by visiting every household, ensuring no one slips through the cracks. Naidu said this system could enhance service delivery and escalate administrative efficiency.
