Less than three months after dropping its first catalog, Macy's By Mail will make its catalog buyers file available for list rental Nov. 1 through AZ Marketing, Cos Cob, CT. Although counts and prices were not yet available, Macy's dropped 2 million books for its August launch and planned to send 10 million by the end of the year to reach one of every 10 households in the United States. Macy's is owned by Federated Department Stores, Cincinnati, which also operates retailer Bloomingdale's. AZ Marketing brought to market the 655,000-name Bloomingdale's By Mail list 15 years ago and continues to manage it.
